Thanks so much. I seldom write poetry -- I don't read it much either. Although I majored in English and even taught it at one time, I never developed a liking for it much. I do enjoy some though -- like Shel Silverstein and ee cummings.

This is absolutely a great little poem, with a great word picture. When I get overcome by the news and stories of sadness, I can remember this little critter who your old dog finally bested, and the brave kid that overcame his own distaste to free his Mom from the burden of getting rid of the remains. I would love to see more poetry from you.

Well -- my doggie killed another one today and presented to me when I got home from work. How's that for freaky? I am beginning to really dislike mice.

Great Poem, Even if it is not deep or about something super serious, it tells a story in short time and is quirky.
