I started shopping at Amazon.com about five years ago. I have never had a problem that wasn't resolved within 24 hours by customer service. I have always handled my customer service issues via email and responses are always quick. As an example, I had preordered a movie on DVD and a few days after it was released, the order was still showing as not shipped. I emailed customer service and asked what the problem was. They emailed me back within eight hours and apologized for the delay. They shipped the order immediately and sent me a $5.00 gift certificate. I was quite pleased with the response.
Amazon's selection is incredible. Books, videos, DVDs, electronics, outdoor furniture and the list goes on. I have probably spent over $2,000 over the past five years. My husband says that I'm keeping them in business! :)
Amazon offers several shipping options, but I always choose the standard shipping option since it is the least expensive. My items are sent via USPS or UPS and always arrive within a week. If items are sent via UPS or USPS Priority Mail, you can track your package at the Amazon.com site. This has been helpful in the past for me.
I really like Amazon's wishlist capability. I can keep a list of all the items that I'd like to buy for myself or for other people that don't have wishlists all in one convenient location. Sometimes, I end up buying items at other merchants, but I buy the majority at Amazon.
The other thing that I really like about Amazon.com is Amazon Marketplace. I can sell my used books, videos, DVDs, etc. on Amazon Marketplace. They take care of the payment process, deduct a small fee from the total and notify me when I have sold an item. I get paid via direct deposit into my checking account. I think I've made about $400 this year from selling items through Amazon Marketplace. It's a great service!!
