Netflix.com is one of the best site available for renting DVDs sitting at home which is based in San Jose, Calif. It is a monthly subscription based service that allows you to rent a certain number of DVDs, at any onetime, for a previously set monthly price. There are different plans ranging from $14 to $40 a month. Netflix takes care of the shipping costs for sending and returning the DVDs.
If you sign up for a $20 monthly plan on the site using a credit card, it allows you to have up to three DVDs out at any one time. You can search through its database of around 10,000 DVD titles, adding the ones you want to see to your personal rental queue. You can have DVDs for as long as you want. But you won't get another set unless you return your previous set of DVDs.
On an average, one can rent from six to ten or even 12 DVDs a month, depending upon how quickly one can return the movies and how close you live to the company's shipping warehouse in San Jose and the kind of plan you are subscribed with. Different plans site offers include the following
$14.95/month ---- allows 2 DVDs out any time
$24.95/month ---- allows 4 DVDs out any time
$39.95/month ---- allows 8 DVDs out any time
It doesn't limit on how many DVDs you rent per month and it depends on the above said factors
It works to around $2.50 to $3.00 per DVD. That's a good deal when compared to $4 per DVD you pay at the rental warehouses and you have the luxury of getting it right to your door.
Netflix allows you to search for DVDs by title or by actor. You can also search titles by category like drama, action, comedy, foreign or new release. Listing includes a synopsis of the film and might also include a review of the film.
One may not be able to find the DVDs they are looking for. But they say, you can send a personal request and they will look into that and respond back
