Kimberly:

It seems that the points emails are coming less and less frequently now, unfortunately :(

Sorry it took me so long to respond, but I never got a notification telling me this was here!

I just started My Points, about the same time that I started here. I have a little over 600 now. It does seem to take forever to get anything. I am glad to see that you got something out of them. Have a good day!!

That's great that they waived the late charge, it's nice to know that the company is flexible.

Thanks for the info ;)

I'm glad you checked out the rates first. You have to get a card that meets your needs, otherwise you'll get nothing but headaches I'm sure. Not every card is for every person. I wanted to add, just in case anyone is interested, that after the Sept. 11th disaster, I received my bill for this card very late. I'm in NJ and we had a few postal offices closed because of Anthrax, so that might have had something to do with it. Anyhow, I called NextCard (the bank MyPoints uses) and they gladly took off the late payment and the interest payment. They did mention what I could do in the future--- paying without a bill. But they deducted those fees for me.

Again, great review, and I look forward to reading more of your work.

Happy Holidays,
Barbara

Checked out the card - there is a $29 charge if your payment is late. That's too much of a worry for me. I always try to pay my card off on time, but sometimes I'm a few days late. Not going to risk it!

I don't normally carry a balance on the card I'm using - just a VISA - I don't even know what the interest rate is. I just have it to improve my credit rating since I'll need some proof that I can pay bills if I ever want to buy a car or anything ;) I think I'm paying $8/year for the pleasure, and I get nothing in return :P

I'll be sure to read the terms carefully!

Thanks for the advice

Hi. Yes, please do check the terms first. I don't carry any balances & I pay in full each month so I don't really know what the interest rate is. I do know that there is no annual fee. I just can't see using my old Master Card & not get any benefits from it. I go where the offer is the best I guess. ;) Good luck!

Pretty slow if you're just clicking emails (Reply to this comment)

However, it wast time to order more contact lenses for my son and I just got a 750 point bonus for ordering them from the place I'd have ordered from anyway. You don't have to do a LOT of on-line shopping, you just have to watch for those bonuses.

The mastercard is probably worthwhile, but if you carry a balance, be sure to check the terms.

Nice Review. (Reply to this comment)

I have been a member of MyPoints for quite some time also. I've learned that the points listed on the emails (your total points) are only correct as of the making of that particular email. In other words, if they made that email on Oct 25, set it to be sent out on Nov 1, then it would have your point balance as of Oct 25. Also, I've found that it takes longer than the "overnite" slogan they have to receive points. In all, I've been very happy with them. Since I use their Master Card I get quite a few points racked up & am able to redeem $50 gift certificates just about each month or month & 1/2. I then save up the gift cert. & use them while Christmas shopping. It saves me ALOT of money on toys etc...

I hope I helped with the conflicting points anyhow ;)

I enjoyed reading this!
