All this extra drive space adds so much more value to your digital devices. I purchased the MicroDrive to use in my digital camera. It is so nice to be able to go out on a photo-shoot (or just candid photos) without having to worry about how many photos you can take. Finally I have the freedom to be "shutter-happy" and take as many photos as my heart desires!
The 340MB MicroDrive replaced my 128MB SmartMedia Compact Flash Card. At first I was concerned about access times on the MicroDrive (since it is indeed a miniature hard drive with moving parts inside). I thought it would take longer to access my photos for review and playback. However, the access time is just about the same as it was with the Compact Flash Card. There may be a minor difference, but I don't even notice it. The same applies when taking a photo; it is written to the MicroDrive in about the same amount of time it would be written to the Compact Flash Card.
The MicroDrive will not work in all devices that accept Compact Flash Cards (even though it is the same size), so check the owner's manual of your device to make sure it is compatible. The MicroDrive may look more expensive at first, but do the math megabyte-per-dollar, and I think you'll find that the MicroDrive is the better deal.
If you're confined by the storage space on your Compact Flash Cards, you don't know what you're missing with 340MB of sheer freedom - especially with a digital camera.
