| badbonz0007's Full Review: Marley & Me |
If you are a dog lover, such as my wife and I are. Then you will definitely want to see this movie. Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson do an excellent job of a couple trying to raise three children and an un-ruefully dog that likes to have his way through out their life.
Marley starts out being a clearance sale yellow Labrador retriever, Jennifer falls in love with this when she sees him. Jennifer Aniston has a list that she has that she is trying to portray her life by. By following this list, Jennifer and Owen Wilson start out by getting married, and they decided that they did not know if they were able to raise any children so they decided to try and raise a dog as a test. As they go through a lot of trial and errors with their new family member, Jennifer becomes pregnant before they are actually ready and before they know what happened they have three children to face with, along with this unruly dog.
All of the trials and tribulations Wilson in turn uses these antics of his life, the fact that he is married and raising the dog and children to write his column's articles with and gets rave reviews from his newspaper editor. Owen Wilson argues with this editor that he wants to be a reporter, which in turn, he finds out that he is a better columnist than a reporter. Jennifer and Owen go through the regular arguments of early newlyweds, and even at one point she wants to get rid of the dog. But she knows that that is not going to happen.
They finally decide that Marley has to get rid of his manhood and settle down, after attacking the obedience instructor and humping the life out of her, they are kicked out of the class and told never to return again. This is when they decided that it was time that Marley had to be put on the sidelines and watch as all of his friends have fun until he is able to behave off of a leash. After watching all of his children grow up, Owen Wilson has a hard decision to make as they start to have trouble with the health of Marley.
All throughout the movie Owen Wilson struggles with his identity, and that is whether or not he is a reporter or columnist. He quits his job as a columnist and tries to go to Philadelphia and become a reporter. That is where he found out that his actual love is being a columnist, because as a columnist he puts himself into a lot of his columns where as a reporter has to deal with facts.
By the time, you are done watching this movie. It has everything that you would want a PG rated movie to have, it has two hours of laughter and sorrow and not one bit of nudity or bad language involved in this whole movie. This was a hard fit to do, because in today's day and age of newfound movies it is hard to have any movie with no nudity or bad language involved in any of the scenes. I would highly recommend taking your wife and kids to see this movie. I would definitely give this five stars.
