Can't belive I'm just now reading all these...
We hit Galveston 4 days late. Gawd that sucks! However, we will be back in Galveston around July-ish if the current schedule stays the same... maybe we can arrange to meet in the middle or something?

...to join you at M&G while wearing nothing but panties and a knee-brace! LOL
Otherwords, this description made me feel as if I were there! I could even taste the finger food!
Cheers!

...on this review tells how far behind the times I am. You are correct on your assessment that dear Katrina affected ALL my plans, one of which was to attend the "Big D, M&G." Wish I coulda been there.

I finally get an update on the post-M&G events... I wondered what happened to the karaoke kings and queens. :) That's a bummer it was canceled for the night, but if it was Toby Keith it might have been up my alley. (I'm now running madly away from most of the Music category who is throwing various items my way at the mention of country music.)
Matt and myself had a great time hanging out with friends at the TCU/UNLV football game, it was a sound routing of those denizens of the desert... Horned Frogs 51 - Rebels 3 I think UNLV knew what was up with TCU's fumble recovery in the first two minutes of the game: 14 - 0
Glad y'all had a great time and I left with a good impression of the DFW area. Great people and great fun, maybe I'll come back sometime soon.
Thanks again for the hospitality Amy, your kids were great and I enjoyed meeting everyone.
Until later,
Abraham

"An overload of girliness spilling in his direction" would NEVER drive me away from a table. I just felt that I should stir it up with the music peeps.

And, as one of the only four to attend all three acts of the play, I can vouch for the truth of what you speak (or type)!
By the way, not that it matters at all, her name is Deborah. I was about one drink shy of forgetting her name as well, which would've landed me in extremely hot water.

Actually, we're still waiting for the couch to arrive. Maybe this week or next week, we can finally haul that piece of crap futon we've been sitting on to the dump and we can actually have some people over for a party.
I don't know what got into me with the Christmas decorations. I just felt like putting them up-- wanted to look at the lights. I've been reviewing Christmas music since October. Incidentally, someone in a nearby neighborhood had their tree up in October.

Thanks for coming out to the M&G and for making GG welcome in your home, Amy. It was great getting a chance to hang out and hear your thoughts about the site. Any other thoughts or suggestions you have... you know where to find me!

No Show (Reply to this comment)
by kevintipple
I was also a no show and wasn't happy about it. However, a 102 fever thanks to a raging sinus infection dictated that I keep me and my germs home.
Maybe next time--if there ever is a next time?

Mmmmm - smoked ribs! Hope you didn't get any BBQ sauce on your new couch.
And what's the deal with Christmas decorations in November? What are you - a deaprtment store? (just kidding)
NY would be awesome - I understand there are some gay bars with completely kickin' karaoke. How brave is cap'n Bill? I think Andrew's game...

Wow... really wish Bill and I could have come. We spent the weekend smoking ribs and putting up Christmas decorations instead!
If New York is next, maybe Colonel Bill and I can come to that one!
I would have loved to have gotten an Epinions t-shirt, as long as there was one big enough to cover my overly ample bosoms!

Nope - country music is not my usual.
I might actually do the hat and boots in the right setting... but I'd be worried that they would revoke my Californian card. I refuse to become and official Texan.

Hey Mike -
Mi casa es su casa and you know it.
It's looking promising for NY. Guess we'll have to wait and see though - too soon for firm plans since they don't have a date yet.

.......another great Meet & Greet...can any of them top Chicago????
Hey, the music sounds like I would have fit right in....I Love This Bar...good stuff there. :)
No boots, no cowboy hat?? Bu...bu...but you live in Texas...you could pull it off. I love the look but somehow don't think people in Wisconsin would be ready for a California girl (well okay old lady) to don the cowboy uniform...but maybe one of these days.
Thanks for the great recap of the day Amy...sounds like a great time was had by all.......Make it a great day........kath
So glad that Grace was there...she's a great Books CL and liason. :)
