The Bottom Line Join my weather write off and contribute your experiences.
2005 has been a heck of a year as far as weather goes, dont you think? We have had more hurricanes this year with more devastating effects since the early 1900s. I have been absent for a while but now Im back and I am celebrating my 250th review with this write off about weather and our views and experiences with it. 1. Do you like a hot or cold climate? I like a hot climate. I hated English weather, it was so depressing. Give me sunshine and heat any time. 2. How do you deal with excessive heat? Well, usually, I have a pool but I am in between residences at the moment. Heck, if there isnt a pool, I hose myself down and stay wet. 3. How do you deal with excessive cold? I dont deal with cold very well. I hate to be cold and would prefer to be a hermit in a nice warm house than venture out in the brrrrrrr snow. Usually I wrap up, turn the heat up and cook in front of the TV. 4. Have you seen a tornado up close? Elaborate. Well, I havent seen a tornado but I have seen a few water spouts since I live by the ocean. Water spouts are just as terrifying and do just as much damage. Luckily, most waterspouts diminish as they reach land but if you are out on the water, it can be pretty darn scary. 5. Have you experienced a hurricane? Elaborate. Many, and being on the Gulf Coast, Im sure I will experience many more. Hurricane Rita, which didnt do much damage here, resulted in chaos in Houston/Galveston. Everyone was evacuating at the same time and cars were overheating in the traffic jams, nobody had water and gas was running out. It was total mayhem. That was scarier than the hurricane itself. A tropical storm once came through here and flooded the place with its rainfall. My house escaped the flooding because it was on high ground but for three days you had to use a boat to get around. 6. Have you ever been snowed in? If so, where and for how long? I was once snowed in in Dixon, Illinois for four days. We could not get the door open and had to get out through a second story window. The house was half buried in snow and we were totally secluded in the countryside. Not my idea of fun. 7. Are you afraid of thunderstorms? I didnt used to be until a few years ago when I was sitting in my living room with the window open. A bolt of lightning shot into the room and my daughter and I sat there with our hair standing on end while the air crackled. I was so stunned I couldnt move. That was scary! 8. Do you like rainy days or sunny days? My middle name should be sunny. I like bright sunshiney days. My mood is always good on a sunny day. 9. Is your local weatherman usually spot on about the weather? Dr. Neil is a great weatherman and when he is not spot on, he is darn close. I trust him completely. 10. On average, how lucky are you weatherwise on your vacations? I usually luck out on my vacations with sunny weather. 11. If you were a form of weather, what would you be? Well, some days, Im thunder and others I am lightnin! 12. What would the weather be like on your ideal day? It would be about 80 degrees, sunny with blue skies and low humidity with a bit of a breeze.
