We Had Our Run Ins BUT . . . (Reply to this comment)
by viper1963
Gracef, I remember when I was a member of EpinonAddicts.com. Several of my posts were deleted because they were "controversal". I wrote amykhar to remove me as a member. But you know something, I did it in the heat of things and wasn't thinking clearly.
Life is too short and Epinions is not my life so I tried to tell amykhar I was sorry BUT she did not accept my apologies so I moved on. Sure, I missed EpinionAddicts but what could I do?
In the early days I remember the heat you took some deserved and some weren't. We know each other only by mere words and sometimes people take written words the wrong way.
I, too, was nervous when I attended the California Meet and Greet but everyone who attended was great!

Agree with you about how quick it was over (Reply to this comment)

Thanks for your compliments. I enjoyed meeting you too. You've always been so helpful when I needed to find a book. As you, I lamented the fact that the meeting seemed to be over just after it started. I didn't know about the before and after parties but I'm not sure my wife (a non-epinioner) would have gone for that. I "met" just about everybody there but had too few really satisfying conversations. I did find it a great experience though I want to attend future meetings.

... at the next M&G! I had no idea you were even in the room -- I gues that's what I get for not straying from the music table...
I noticed you when you came in... tall, ultra-cool looking dude. Someone else told me who you were. But it's really hard to get up and circulate if you're enjoying talking to people.
Maybe next time!

Did I seem unimpressed? I hope I didn't strike you in an unfavorable way. It was very, very nice to have met you, and I totally apologize if I came across as detached, distant, or otherwise unfriendly. I was rather in a daze after margarita one, so that may explain whatever vibe I was putting out.
Oh no! You misunderstand, Brian!
I LOVED the way you reacted with me. Too many people have preconceived notions, many of them not being favorable where I'm concerned.
But you acted normal. I loved that! I just felt so comfortable, and I thank you for being that way.

Had I known you were going (Reply to this comment)

I might have walked down to Texas
I posted my RSVP on the public Epinions board. (Guess we now know who's not hanging around there! ;) )
I appreciate the sentiment though.

When is the next M&G? (Reply to this comment)
by pestyside
I followed the development of this M&G with interest but assumed that I was too new to attend. Someone has since explained that even newbies are encouraged to attend--what better way to introduce myself to other reviewers. I hope to stick around, writing and playing with reviews, so, do you know when the next one will be and where? Probably won't return to Illinois for a while. Nice comments, they make me want to attend one to meet some of the interesting folks that have welcomed me to Epinions.

Hi (Reply to this comment)

This meet and greet sounds like it was big fun.
I enjoyed your iner action with the other members, and there were many you mentioned that are among my favorite people too. I do appreciate all you have done to get a couple of my reviews on the data base. I know that it probably wasn't easy.

Very cool... (Reply to this comment)

Name dropper! :)
It's highly unlikely I'll ever get to a Meet and Greet, since Utah's the middle of nowhere and I don't travel all that much these days...but it's great to see them happening. I'm glad you had a great time, sounds like it was a blast!

Nice to read (Reply to this comment)

Wish I could have made it but it was a full weekend for me. Then driving to Dallas and to the north end was not to my liking. I drive to Fort Worth but my son lives on the south side and that makes it easy.
I guess I will be going on six years coming up, lots of things have happened since then. I am still here and write when I can. You have been a God sent to the books data base and I thank you.
