WHAT'S THE 411 ON THIS PRODUCT?
First, let me say that my older Black & Decker drill had literally DIED. Went to use it one day and the thing just wouldn't come on after thinking that it wasn't plugged in and after trying everything to get it to work!!
Realising that the thing had drawn its last breath some time ago, it was obviously time to get a new drill. So I began to look around for a new one. I just happened to be in a Lowe's store last spring to pick up a bug zapper. I was with a friend who was there to buy a Black & Decker Power Saw, so I then thought about getting an electric drill.
WHAT THEN?
I looked at many of the major brands and had decided to get another Black & Decker drill. There were two different models. I chose to get the Black & Decker DR250B 5.2 Amp 3/8 VSR Drill / Driver w/ Storage Bag. I've had mostly good luck over the years with B&D power tools, so I thought I'd stick with this brand.
And when the time came to use it, I was amazed by it's awsome power! I was really blown away by the way that it performs effortlessy and flawlessly!
WHAT ELSE?
This is no ordinary mediocre drill!! It really has the power to get the job done! It has many of the features found in more expensives units, yet it can be bought at a reasonable price. It's exteremely lightweight and pwerful!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
This unit works pretty much like all other electric drills. The difference here lies in the amp power which is 5.2 amps. Also, it has variable speeds and is reversible. It can tackle jobs both large and small!
Principally, it looks sort of like a beefed-up drill on steroids because of it unusual shape and design!
HOW TO USE?
You simply use the drill for the type of job that you have to do. For instance, if you want to fasten something together with screws, you'd want to use a slower speed. To removes screws, just moved the switch for the reverse feature. To drill holes, you'd use a faster speed. There's a measure of power for just about every job!

THE TECHNICAL STUFF:
1. Amps: 5.2.
2. Volts: 120v AC only.
3. Speeds 0 - 1500 rpm.
4. Capacity: 1 inch (25.4mm) for wood, 3/8 inch (9.5mm) for steel.
5. Cord: 6 feet (1.85m).
ANY SHORTCOMINGS AT ALL?
None to date.
HOW ABOUT NOISE?
This drill seems to have a reasonably low noise level even at it's highest speed!
It also has a large fan and lots of vents to help get rid of excess heat produced by the motor when being used for a length of time.
MY EXPERIENCE SO FAR:
So far, I like this drill! It's quick, powerful and does the job very well.
I've always trusted Black & Decker power tools for many years. And I'm sure that this drill will give me many years of reliable use.
IN SHORT:
This drill is one of the best that you can buy! Compact, yet very convenient, strong and powerful! Loaded with features.
The drill that I bought has a somewhat different shape than the one pictured above, but it's the exact same model number. Guess it has been introduced in a new shape, but the exact same features are still there.
FINAL THOUGHT?
Yes!
If you're looking for a good quality electric drill that will gives you many years of great reliable servive, then THIS unit is the one to get!
