My top 10 Anime movies, the movies every anime fan or movie lover should own.

My 10 favorite anime movies.  Some of these movies fine for adolescents and children, others are for adults because of anime sex and anime nudity.

It is a good film and I rated it at #18 on my favorite anime films list. I just don't think it is his best work.

thx for stopping by,

I don't understand why other purists dont like it either, unless they saw the poorly edited version that was released into theatres. Ya it wasn't as good as Akira, but it was still a good movie.

Btw, just finished the Steamboy review if you're interested in my take on the movie (http://www.epinions.com/content_427269721732). Now I just need to get to Ghost in the Shell 2.

And Appleseed, and memories, and Kiki's, and.....

it never ends. :)

I was suprised you included Steamboy - I think it's very well done, but a lot of the anime purists can't seem to stand it, because it didn't live up to Akira in their minds...

Princess Mononoke is listed twice, once as 7 and again as 13. Cowboy Bebop should be in there for one of those instead. :)

That will be listed in 11-20. I kind of struggled with where to place that one at first since it is such a well done movie. But I don't feel it has much replay value.

Oh, but no 'Grave of the Fireflies'? That hauntingly beautiful and sad film tops my very short list of anime movies.

Interesting list. I wouldn't put any of your titles onto my top 10 list but there are some good ones on there.

Saw Grave of the Fireflies and I guess I was over-sold on it. I was told it would be one of the most powerful films I've ever seen. While certainly emotional, it didn't have the punch I was expecting. Definitely a classic, though. Up there with Akira and Ghost in the Shell.

I recently read about Cowboy Bebop and Mars Daybreak and am anxious to see those.

And one I just rented a couple of nights ago is called Grave of the Fireflies. I'm a little torn about where to put it in my list, it's not an action flick but it is still a good Anime.

I hope it helps. Another movie not on this list is Vampire hunter D. I think it is also worth checking out.

I used to like Japanese cartoons, but am quite overwhelmed with anime. I think I'll start with this list. Thanks!
