Over the years I've ordered a lot of stuff from Amazon, including books, watches, electric shavers, etc., but for the past year or so that has changed. Orders were usually delivered in a fast and accurate manner. Prices are not as good as in the past though, and some of the offers are ridiculous. For example, I wanted to buy a bathroom scale and Amazon had a $10 discount on purchases over $29. They priced this scale at $28 so I could not take advantage of the offer. A few days later the same scale is $38. Now I can take advantage of the offer and pay the same price they had a few days ago. Needless to say I did not buy it through Amazon. Amazon also provides a link to "qualifying products" in many of their offers. After selecting some of these items I discovered that they were not included in the promos. Why post the link to "qualifying products" then? The prices for some of their items seem quite reasonable. For example, I wanted to buy some low self-discharge batteries and Amazon had the Kodak Pre Charged AA batteries under $7 for a 4-pack. When I added 5 packs to my cart, I was being charged around $6 for shipping per item! Absurd. I just checked and the price is now $7.50 per pack, and TOTAL shipping for 5 packs is a more reasonable $9.45, and $46.95 total. I already purchased the batteries elsewhere, though, and only paid $35 including shipping. My only purchases from Amazon in the past months have been MP3 albums that they have for free or at $1.99. Other than that now I end up making my purchases elsewhere.
