Thank you very much for your thorough and thoughtful report on Plagiocephaly, specifically. It's impressive to see such a careful consideration of all aspects of plagiocephaly treatment from someone probably not directly working with or affected by babies with plagiocephaly. Thank you for increasing awareness. I would like to offer some feedback, as well as ask for some clarification on the information you have provided on the use of cranial orthoses to treat plagiocaphaly.

Although you stated that "A cranial orthoses or helmet therapy has also been used with positive results with patients under 3 months of age," I know of none of the over 20 unique FDA approved helmets and bands that are approved for use under 3 months of age. Was this a misstatement? I am unaware of any cranial orthoses studies on babies younger than 3 months of age either.

I'd also like to point out that just as cranial orthoses effectivity studies authored by persons with an association with banding companies might raise one's eyebrow, so to speak, so goes studies authored by physicians with a association with positioning products. For example, De Chalain invented a positioning cone, publically endorses the OCCblock, as well as recommends and authored a study on the Safe T Sleep positioning system published in 2003 for plagiocephaly prevention and treatment.
