Cricket Works for Me
Written: Nov 08 '01
In general I am pleased with my Cricket service. I don't have the headache of tracking my minutes and calculating my bill. I rely on my phone to keep me connected to my children when I am at work or running errands. I am happy to say that I have had no problems making or receiving calls (despite all the warnings I got prior to purchasing my Cricket). Cricket's coverage area is actually better than my home phone provider's local calling area which means that I actually save on my long-distance! In my area My coverage area in Utah goes from Spanish Fork to North Ogden. I chose to have voice mail added to my service and don't mind paying the extra $3.95 per month. Problem 1: For the first two weeks I had this phone I did not receive my messages quickly. Getting an important message from the boss 36 hours later was irritating, to say the least! To Cricket's credit this problem has not happened since.
Now to the cons: Cricket's customer service needs work. The automated phone system is lengthy and unreliable. I have been disconnected several times and have had problems paying my bill with this system. Did I mention the irritating music? I am willing to put up with this because the cost of the service and the fact that I'm not tied into a contract fits my needs perfectly.
Overall, Cricket seems to have worked out many of the "bugs" in its system.
