I've bought quite a number of stuff from Rock Bottom Golf and they have great deals.
However, recently, I noticed they have had some VERY SHADY business practices. EVERY TIME they offer a discount coupon (e.g. 15% off Site Wide sales) to their email subscribers, they RAISE their prices!
Case in point... The Taylor Made R7 irons were listed for $399 on their site (with free shipping) before they released their SuperBowl 2009 15% off your entire purchase coupon. As soon as that coupon was put into effect, the price on their site for this EXACT SAME set of irons is $449.99. After the 15% off coupon, your price is "Just $382.49 w/Coupon!" according to their site. However, since you cannot combine coupons, you'll have to tack on $16.99 for UPS Ground shipping bringing your total to.... drum roll please.... $399.48!!! So where is this 15% savings compared to when there is no promotional coupon code? It was $399 with free shipping BEFORE the promotion and $399.48 shipped WITH the coupon!
Is this a sale or a SCAM???
I only used the TaylorMade R7 irons as an example but this applies to a lot of other items as well. I've been watching their email coupons since I'm on their mailing list and time and time again, prices go up (at least for the bigger ticket items) during these coupon code promotions!
