I have been shopping on and off for several years at ewiz.com, and have been quite happy. They were almost always stocked with sale items, did noy try to pull any sneaky tricks, and I had no damaged merchandise. (I live less than 10 miles away, so my packages didn't have to travel far.)
That all changed when I purchased an item on eBay from MP3 Superstore. That entity turns out to be a part of Superbiz/Ewiz/whatever.
They offered an Asus Silent Square EVO CPU cooler for the Intel Core 2 Duo and Quad. This device removes vast quantities of heat; it sells for $69 at NewEgg and I paid $59. However, they shipped an Asus Arctic Square cooler, a much lower-rated cooler that sells for $45 at NewEgg. I already have several similar coolers, and I specifically wanted the EVO.
After I notified them of the error, I got a string of apologies and eventually had to send in a return merchandiise authorization (RMA) request.
At that time, I believed (from ewiz's past performance) that the listing was an error, just a result of sloppy writing and nonexistent proofing rather than a deliberate attempt to mislead. I no longer believe that to be the case.
My repeated demands for a prepaid shipping label to return this item have gone completely unanswered. In order to get my money back, I will have to pay for return shipping. Nothing will compensate me for the wasted hours attempting to make these people live up to their responsibilities or for the expedited shipping I had to pay to get the correct item from NewEgg.
I didn't order an incorrect item; they advertised one item and sent a cheaper item. Since they believe that stonewalling is a legitimate business method, I can no longer trust them.
I have removed myself from their mailing lists. I never had this kind of trouble with ewiz.com, but I'm not giving them another chance to swindle me on eBay as MP3 Superstore or online at any of their other identities.
