I got the fruitcake last year from my 1o year old niece. Before Christmas she asked who I was going to give it to, so I told her I ate it. She replied, "No you didn't, because you'd be dead."
I don't think I will send you the fruitcake. It just isn't safe!

Hmmmm. good question. I've never eaten fruitcake old enough to have 'tree rings' or one that has gotten a life of its own, so I don't know.... But with all the preservatives, it probably is just fine. ;)

I usually do not do these 'Writer's Corner' write-offs. But it is nice to find one that actually requires some serious writing rather than checking off a list of questions.

Hi Scott,
Hum. I guess it depends on how much brandy they poured on it or in me (-: beforehand. Then again, my dad used to get a fruit cake that was so bad that even the birds wouldn't eat it when my mom broke it up and tossed it outside. We ended up having to collect old fruit cake pieces to put in the garbage can. That's one benefit of having lots of kids. They can be recruited for such duties.
