Seriously, I think it would be neat to have a sequel of sorts written in the style of Stephen King.
I'm surprised that you don't like this movie, because you seem like the type who would.

You said people could write in the form of someone else. How about the style of Stephen King? LOL. I'm not really a fan of this movie so I think I'll pass on writing a story. If I wrote one I would probably have to make it creepy like a Stephen King novel. This is a cool idea for a write off if you like the movie. Hope it goes good for you.

Your story is wonderful!
In spite of your not being a fan of the movie (I couldn't have known this except for your saying so), this piece can stand alone as a slice-of-life that gives an indication of what took place in some of the lives of the people and their descendants with the passing of time.
It also works well as flash-fiction and stands alone there, too, as well.
But this seems, most, to be an excerpt from a longer story/novel, so I can hardly wait to read the rest.
Will this novel have its focus on the life of Violet as well as the lives of her family? or Will it be a novel about Bedford Falls and its residents, past and present?
In short, great job!!!

I'm glad!
With your talent, you'll do it a lot of justice.
But this isn't a movie that you "rush out" to see (even though there are a few theaters that show it around this time of year), as it isn't the latest hit but, rather, something that has been around since 1946.
Instead, you either catch it on TV or else get hold of (buy, rent, check out from library, borrow from a friend, etc.).
You'll find it to be very worthwhile, I'm sure. Warning: You might be reaching for tissue or a hankie in places.

I, too, hope this W/O is a smashing success that will yield lots of great stories, poems, lyrics, etc.
Am looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
If it's anything close to that novel you're writing about online romance (Hey! Where's the next chapter? And the next one after that? And the next one after that? ...), it should really rock!

This sounds like a really fun one, and a really TOUGH one. I think that I will sit down over my break and write out something for you :) This one could take a while though, because it is going to strain my creativity.
