Hmmm where to start, ok how about Thanksgiving 3 years ago. I had decided to get the jump on my X-mas shopping, the site was really easy to use. If an item was out of stock you could be put on alert when they come in. I had such great time using Amazon I used it more often to purchase DVDs and Toys. Great prices, easy to navigate overall easy to use. Then they merged with Toys R US, the toy part went to doodie. They now hardly carry any thing thats not popular. The prices are now nothing special you can find better deals on smaller less popular toy store. That is if they have anything at all.
Ok so I mainly used the site for DVDs, great shipping and great prices. Of course until Charles Angels came out. I pre-ordered it cause the week it came out I wouldn't have time to get to a video store. Well, it came out in stores and 2 WEEKS later I got it. 2 WEEKS? WOW this is the site that would get me items the next day or day after. AT THE MOST 3 days. So I just figured Amazon has gone down to pooper. Now with loooong shipping times, the selection is nothing great, and the prices was now considered average.
Now 3 weeks ago Toys R us had a 3 PS2 games for the price of 2. So I ordered 007 Agent Under fire, SNK VS Capcom 2 and MGS2. Now this week SNK VS Capcom came out in every store online and off. I noticed that EBworld and Gamestop where shipping on the 7th so I wrote to Amazon asking if it was a misprint and if not why would they get it a week after every other store?
The response was the most unprofessional response I had ever received from a company. First they sent me 2 copies of the same response. Words like "YOU" were spelt wrong?! Sentences didn't make sense!? The total response was all the equal to we're getting it on the 12th cause the webpage says so. If you don't like it too bad. The demeanor was as if a person was talking to a child.
I was shocked this was the same Amazon that sent me a FREE item when the original item was taking a long time to get to me. I hadn't asked for it either I just asked if there was a problem with the shipping and they sent me a free item with a letter of apology.
Totally unprofessional, and I learned I was not alone.
I had returned to the message board I found out about the deal and it seems people where getting games shipped to them a week some times 2 weeks after amazon got them. Amazon wouldn't recognize their own coupon, or offer.
Well, after getting talked down to like a kid, find out that there a good chance that not only will I get part of my order a week after the stores across America get them but now I might have to wait a couple of weeks for Amazon to ship it. I canceled my order and sent the unprofessional response I received to amazon as the reason why.
It's a real shame, I loved using amazon but refuse to do business with a company that's gonna treat me like a child with unprofessional e-mails written by a 4 year old.
This is my personal opinion, as you see from my personal experience Amazon has gone downhill fast. Apparently since they acquired a bunch of other site including ToysRus.com has made them too big for their britches.
