Strong words of advice to anyone who wants to purchase from this company and any of their websites - DON'T. Please do yourself a favor - take very seriously all the negative reviews about this company that are posted throughout the internet. Consider the fact that so many people (including me) have no time to do what they/I really want to do, let alone take time to write a lengthy review of a store. Yet all of us reviewers have taken time out of our busy schedules to review Ira Woods. These reviews should **not** be taken lightly.
I made a $5,000+ purchase from this company for a contracting job. The order was for three Franke professional sinks. Placing the order was so easy (I did it over emails – they provided quotes – and finalized over the phone). At the time of purchase, I brought up with the sales person all the negative reviews that I’d read about Ira Woods. He said that people only tend to write reviews when they were unhappy versus happy, so therefore the only reviews out there tended to be negative. I gave his point some thought and felt that was a reasonable argument, considering that feedback people often receive in the workplace typically tends to be only for negative things versus positive feedback when a good job is done.
The sinks were delayed in shipping (yet the credit card was charged the day of purchase) and when they were finally received a month later, one of them had a manufacturer’s defect. We called Ira Woods right away, got an RMA number and sent it back right away.
What happened next was a complete nightmare: for more than FIVE months, (yes, you read correctly - five months), Ira Woods continually mislead and lied to us about the replacement sink. They continually gave us the run around, customer service would never answer their phone or return voice mail messages, and even the customer service manager would not take nor return calls.
The only way I could speak with a human was to call the sales department. Whenever I called the sales department, someone would always answer. Isn’t it ironic how when it comes to taking your money, they immediately answer the phone, but when it comes to taking care of a problem, they’re non existent? When I asked the sales person (never my original sales representative - he wouldn't take my calls) for the names of the top executives so I could take this problem up the chain of command, I was told they do not give out their names and the problem would have to be resolved through customer service.
The extent of their lies was incredible. As an example, two months after Ira Woods received the defective sink, we were told the replacement sink was finally shipping out the next day. Yet when I called a couple days later to get the tracking number, they said they had no sinks in stock and hadn’t had them for awhile. Take note that this was through the sales department because customer service would not answer their phone. At that point I called Franke to confirm when they last shipped that sink style to Ira Woods, and they confirmed that NO sinks had been shipped to them in awhile and in fact, NO retailers anywhere had one of those sinks in stock at that time. So clearly Ira Woods was lying – why would they tell me the sink had been shipped? I still can’t understand their motives for blatantly lying other than to “shut me up and make me go away.”
Clearly Ira Woods is comfortable with continually lying and taking your money without delivering goods on time and in good shape. Ask yourself this question: if you had to blatantly and consistently lie to your customers on behalf of the company, would you work there? The lying is a continual, normal procedure for Ira Woods as evidence by all the other reviewers who write say the same thing. They should be ashamed of themselves.
It took over six months to resolve the replacement issue. Ira Woods NEVER sent the replacement sink – I had to work through Franke to purchase it through another retailer. It took even longer for Ira Woods to refund the money. These people are the WORST, and frankly I cannot understand how they can stay in business. So please do yourself a favor – don’t be seduced by their low prices. It’s truly worth it to pay a bit more and work through an honest and reliable company. Honest and reliable – two words I would **never** use to describe Ira Woods.
