The Bottom Line Why don't you just read the review? Oh, too lazy, eh? Well, so am I...
1. What was the best new song that you heard this year? I heard a wide variety of music, from the classical works of Beethoven, Mozart and Wagner to the latest chart toppers. I did become a big fan of Jimmy Hendrix and of the Rascals during this year, though. 2. What was the best movie that you saw for the first time this year (new release or older one)? I saw several outstanding movies this year. Orson Welles F for Fake is a quirky, very entertaining magic act from the master filmmaker. Scorseses Raging Bull lived up to the hype. I saw Fritz Langs M and Metropolis in my world cinema class and was blown away by both. 3. What was the best book that you read for the first time in 2005? Ralph Ellisons Invisible Man was great. Sadly, I have not done as much reading for pleasure as I should since I graduated (Apart from textbooks (Shudder)). 4. What was the best thing to happen in your life this year? My senior year ended in high school in a big way: I was in the spring play in April, Prom was during the first weekend in May and I graduated on June 10! I also finally got my drivers license on August 5 (Yeah, I was a little slow in getting it, but I can drive a stick!). 5. What was the best thing that you tried for the first time in 2005? (Maybe you had a new food, went sky-diving, or drove across the country) I had always liked football if only for the manliness of it, but I became a big time fanatic during this past season. My main interest was on high school and college because that is where the bulk of the current national interest is on (Although I was rooting for the Indianapolis Colts as they attempted to go for an unbeaten season). This has also had some unfortunate aspects of it, though, as Ive expressed disappointment and even anger to my parents that they did not encouraged me to do football when I was in high school (A half-truth: My parents were not very open to the idea when I proposed it back during my freshmen year, but I also did not bring it up again for another few years, which by then it was too late for high school). Still, I am proud to have football as a part of my life now. 6. Time to brag.... What was the best thing that you felt you did this year? (Did you volunteer somewhere or win a competition? Maybe you helped a friend in need) I met so many great people during my dying months of high school, and I feel that I tried to be the best friend I could be to my friends. I have the best, most diverse group of friends a person my age could ask for. 7. What was the best thing about Epinions in 2005? (maybe you had a personal accomplishment or liked a new policy?) I was most proud that I was finally able to finish my review on The Lost World (1925). I also became much more productive, especially during the last few months. 8. What did you feel was your best review in 2005? I wrote great Epinions on, The Lost World (1925), F for Fake, Ben-Hur (1926), King Kong (2005), Son of Kong, Expedition Bismarck, Great Planes- B-36 and B-29 Frozen in Time. Almost all of the Epinions I just listed were also either the first or the second one for said movies. 9. Who was the best new writer that you came across on Epinions this year? Ive enjoyed many other writers work over the past year. The one that most impresses me, though, is Metalluk, for both his quality and quantity of reviews. 10. Finally, What is the best thing that you are looking forward to in 2006? I hope to finally land a job outside of Epinions, I want to get better grades during my spring semester of college and I hope to write my one-hundredth review on Epinions and, if possible, to get up to 150 reviews. Thanks for reading, and have a Happy 2006! |
