This is a pretty week summation of the beers available in Costa Rica. I suppose if the writer had a ball gag, fresh orange squeeze, and a wheat beer he'd be happier.

to your reviews on the land of pura vida. Yup, beautiful place. That's where I learned my Spanish (those 4 years in high school didn't really count). I've been contemplating a trip back but going as a turista will be a bit strange for me, as I had my host family before and felt more like a local.

Imperial and Pilsen are definitely familiar (even after 20 some odd years). Don't recall the others . . .

Spent a week rafting, biking, hiking, rapelling there in 2004. Stayed in Turrialba - cute little non-tourist town. Blew through all the beers quickly the first night and stuck with Bavaria Dark the rest of the time. Nice dark lager. Brought some of my own Smuttynose in my pack as well. Hope to get back and explore more (scenery, not beer) someday.

Pura Vida!
