Once again, Alex, you have done a better job then I have in summarizing my problems (And with much more clarity, too). In fact, would you mind if I quoted you in a review revision?

What an Education! (Reply to this comment)

Thank you for the plug and the praise.
You have seen many splendid films in 2005.
I tend to agree with you about SCHINLER'S LIST -- but for different reasons.
Many Nazis did just kill people indiscriminately. They did not believe those they murdered were fully human. They thought they themselves were Supermen, and that they were doing God's Work, "in the name of the Fuhrer."
[Sound familiar these days? It's catching, especially when religion of any kind is used as a justification.]
Spielberg, I think, was trying to say that some Nazis did have a conscience. Oskar Schindler was, after all, a Nazi. But, in typical Spielberg fashion, he overdoes it. He sentimentalizes him. Schindler, though he may have had a conscience, went in whatever direction the wind was blowing -- before, during, and after World War II.
The scene in which he breaks down blubbering ruins the picture, I agree.
Thank you again, Neal,

Well, you gave the inspiration for me, so you got the credit. Thevoid99 was probably inspired by someone else and they were inspired by someone else...it's a never ending cycle.

Me, too (in the ranks of those who thought "Napoleon Dynamite" was unamusing).
I don't claim ownership of such list-making, or have any interest in priority claims, but cam still note that mine flowed from trying to recall what I saw in 2004... and from the example of Void99's monthly multimedia lists.

Yeah, I've read alot too about the holocaust, and I know the Nazis weren't good guys or anything like that. However, evil the acts that they committed might have been, it was still humans being killed and doing the killing. Spielberg doesn't even paint his Nazis with a single hint of emotion or remorse: Not even say a sigh or a thinking glance or anything of the sort. That is what my complaint was with. The Holocaust was a result of much more than 'us versus them' and Spielberg doesn't quite show that...maybe I had a bad day before seeing the movie, I don't know.
Thank you for your comment and for your points.

I agree with you about Schindlers list and your feeling that the Nazi's weren't heartless or that they didn't just shoot anyone like that and or kill anyone at random...I've read too many documented articles and books that state that is so...But, none the less, you are entitled to your opinion...

I wouldn't say I hated it. I just sort-of stared at the T.V for an hour and a half. Like on the episode of The Simpsons where Bart lost his soul: "I know it's funny, but I'm just not laughing".
