This Palm has a fast processor, high resolution display and 8MB of RAM. There are slots for removable media and a voice recorder. The display has a resolution of 320 by 240.
This model is the same in terms of dimensions: 4.7 by 3.2 by .7 as the Palm III. It weighs alittle more (.2 ounces). The total weight is 6.8 ounces. It is compatible with Palm III for cable sand external keyboards. This model uses a serial cable and not a USB connector. The CPU is the same as the Palm m500 PDA: DragonBall VZ. It can runs OS 3.5.2 and will support the Palm upgrade: OS 4.0.
There is a new Graffiti area which allows for more space for Palm applications: address date book, memo pad and to do list. There are eight fonts and screen rotation. The font is significantly improved because of the higher resolution.
There are two slots on top for CF Type II and SD media. They take flash media, Multimedia cards, and Secure Digital media. It comes with backup file copy programs. You can copy and move files and also save applications. The model uses four triple A alkaline batteries. This is twice the amount for Palm III.
The recorder takes 245K for storing a 30 second voice memo. (8 bit mono mode). No jack is included for the headphone. The body contains the microphone and speaker. The sound is not so good when played back. There is a jog dial to do this operation.
There are other applications for synchronizing with Microsoft Outlook. There is also Quickoffice to view and edit Excel worksheets, charts and Word documents.
This is a good PDA which sells for a reasonable price. It has lots of very cool features.
