I LOVE writing! I love writing on the computer and I LOVE writing with new and different writing instruments! When I saw this “writing utensil” write off, of course I had to jump on it! What a great topic, Sleeper54. So, here we go….
Are you a 'clicker' or a 'capper'..?? Both. Depends upon the feel of the pen.
Do you prefer a mechanical pencil or an old-fashioned wooden pencil..?? Mechanical, totally. There’s something great about the smoothness of a mechanical pencil.
Have you ever written a note (or more!) using a highlighter..?? Did you feel 'OK' about that..?? Yes, I sure have. I am a pen-pal and I wrote a 4 page letter using a highlighter. Sometimes to be creative, I’ll write in yellow highlighter and then put light pen strokes in each letter. I know, I’m odd.
Have you ever had a 'writing utensil' embarrass you..?? (By leaking, breaking, making an inappropriate noise, etc.)' I’ve had them to leak all over important papers, I’ve had pencils to break during employment exams and I had NO other pencil. That really sucks.
Have you ever used chalk on a real chalkboard..?? Sure… is that a thing of the past now? Am I getting THAT old?
Have you ever 'clapped erasers' after school..?? Oh yes. Not by punishment, but for extra credit!
Do you share your 'writing utensils' with family, co-workers, strangers..?? I try not to. If I find a great one, I’ll buy one like it for my mom. My “ex” has a bad habit of finding the pen I write with most and stealing it for his work. He knows that I examine pens carefully and if I’m using it frequently, it’s a keeper.
What is the strangest thing you have ever done with a 'writing utensil'..?? Was it legal in Connecticut..?? Chew on it… scratch my back with it…. Throw it at my cat that was scratching on my furniture… I don’t think any of that was illegal in Connecticut. If so, sue me.
Have you ever reviewed a 'writing utensil' on Epinions..?? (Go ahead . . .pimp it you bad girl..!!) Why yes, I have. Would you like to read it? Papermate Flexgrip
What is the strangest 'improvised writing utensil' you have ever written with..?? ** A pencil after my daughter dipped it in paint. I was writing with lead and red paint at the same time.
Has a 'writing utensil' ever changed your life..?? Yeah, someone used one to forge my name on checks they stole from my purse that I lost. So, the writing utensil did change my life. They wrote out over $4,000 in checks.
Have you ever ran the ink out of an ink pen 'writing utensil'..?? Many, many times. With over 100 pen pals and averaging 2 to 6 pages per letter, it doesn’t take long. It’s irritating when they are running low on ink, but not quite out yet.
Do you think 'writing utensils' have any place in the final achievement of 'world peace'..? If a pen or a pencil could be used to end the life of terrorists or to sign death orders on some of the most horrific terrorist leaders, then sure!
Have you ever used 'white-out' (or a similar product) to correct an error made by a 'writing utensil'..?? I don’t’ know many people who haven’t.
Do you like the phrase 'writing utensil'..?? Sure. Utensils are helpers and pens/pencils/highlighters help you write, so why not. What else are we going to call them; fluency aides? Word harvesters? Presentation devices?
If you could write 'the great American novel' . . .what 'writing utensil' would you use..?? A Papermate Flair. I love those things. They are probably my all time favorite “writing utensil.”
