Those who use the world wide web each day logon to a large number of web sites. Many of these are familiar sites that have been around since the early days of the internet. Others are sites that have been setup in the relatively recent past and feature domain names and web pages that have been created by utilizing one of the many different domain registrars and hosting services in existance. The largest of them all is GoDaddy.com, a service that helps you purchase and build your very own web site. What Does This Online Site Offer?: GoDaddy.com offers services such as:
Domain Registration Website Creation Tools Hosting Solutions Secure SSL Certificates E-Commerce Tools E-mail
GoDaddy.com offers many different services to help make your web site a success. It sells domain names and even has an auction that sells some potentially valuable web site domain names to the highest bidder. Payment methods/Shipping: GoDaddy.com accepts several different means for payment. Customers can pay using Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and Paypal. They will also accept a personal check for payment, but like any other online store, the process will not be completed until the payment has been received and cleared. Final Thoughts:
GoDaddy.com is the world's largest web domain service with domain registrations that number more than thirty million. This web service is one of several that offer domain names for purchase along with a large number of services to halp make your web service a success.
Many people dream about owning their own web site and, contrary to what many people believe, the price of a domain and the process of purchasing a web site are easier than many people realize. I have purchased a few domain names in my day and GoDaddy.com is the one I have used for all of my purchases. GoDaddy.com allows purchases of .com, .net, .org, .bz, and dozens of other lesser known web site name extentions.
GoDaddy.com helps customers find the right domain name and even offers suggestions for alternatives, including prices. The way it works is simple. You start by entering your desired domain name. Chances are, it will already be taken because, well, most of the good, simple web names have already been purchased. If the one you want is taken, you can click a link to view more info and see who owns the domain, along with the option of utilizing the services of a domain agent to look into purchasing the domain. Depending on the domain title, the cost can be several thousands of dollars and there is a good chance that the seller will not be willing to part with the name regardless, even for a good offer.
GoDaddy.com suggests names for your domain by selecting one or more of the words you asked for along with some additional words or variations. Domain names that are potentially valuable carry a premium cost. Domain names that are lengthy and not considered potentially valuable are offered for an inexpensive price; recently only about $9.99 for the year. For example, let's say I want a web site relating to school. I want school.com, but it is already taken (currently owned by Office Depot and not likely to be sold). GoDaddy.com then suggests some premium domain names as well as some budget priced domains. A premium domain would include options like schoolacademy.com and schoolactivities.com. These domains are priced in the thousands due to their potential. On the other hand, a domain name like primaryschoolforyou.com or freeeducate4you.com is offered for almost nothing- only about $9.99 each. The reason is obvious- these domain names and others like them are very lengthy, not likely to be remembered, and have a high degree of odds for being mispelled.
But GoDaddy.com is more than just a place to purchase domain names. This service will also help you build your web site, market your web site, select templates, choose photos, and advertise your site. They often offer specials that include credits toward advertising on Google and other web sites. The services offered by GoDaddy.com are good and certainly worth checking into. There are various levels to choose from; for example, you can select different terms (3 month, 9 month, and 12 month); different numbers of pages for use within your site (5, 10 or 999); different amounts of space (50 Mb, 2 Gb, or 4 Gb) , different e-mail accounts (1, 500, or 1,000), and different advertising plans. Be careful about purchasing the base plan (the least expensive one, which includes only 5 pages and 50 Mb of disk space) for your new web site. The reason I say this is because, more often than not, you will outgrow the space and wish you had purchased more. I recommend selecting at least the middle option (12 pages, 2 gigabytes) to better ensure you don't run out of space/room. The least expensive option will set you back only $5 per month for three months, but it will likely prove inadequate. The middle option has much more disk space, pages, etc., and costs only $8 per month for the same three month plan. This is the best option, even for a beginner, because it is still cheap and you can feel much better about not running out of space.
To help you decide on a good design for your web site, GoDaddy.com has plenty of templates, pictures, and more. Last time I checked, GoDaddy.com had 800 different templates to choose from to set up your web site. Yes, there are hosting services that offer even more but with a selection like this, most everyone will be able to find what they want at GoDaddy.com. Also, if you are willing to spend the money and would rather have a professional build your entire site for you, GoDaddy.com offers that option as well. For a price of only about $50 per month for six months (no three month option available with this plan), GoDaddy.com will do all of the work for you.
Customer service at GoDaddy.com is offered twenty- four hours per day, seven days per week. I have found that it is pretty easy to get through to GoDaddy.com, but it is easiest during the late hours of the night when few people are logged into the internet and thus few people are having problems. This service is provided at no extra charge when you purchase your domain name package. GoDaddy.com wants your online site to be a success and they are right there to help you every step of the way.
If there is one annoyance I have noticed with GoDaddy.com, it has to be the constant offers to buy more services as you approach the checkout. Sure, other online stores do the same thing, but the attempts to sell you additional services at GoDaddy.com reaches the point of nagging. How many times does a person have to say "no thanks" until the web site gives in and lets you complete your order? It reaches a point where you almost feel like you have to make a purchase or you will not be allowed to complete your order. GoDaddy.com needs to cut back a little on this constant pressure to increase your services and just let you wrap it all up.
If you already have a domain name registered someplace else, you can transfer existing domain names to GoDaddy.com. This might be a good idea if you want to manage everything you own under a single service. GoDaddy.com also offers specials every now and then, like bulk purchase prices for domain names. Buy six or more, and GoDaddy.com will often reduce the price per domain. Also, don't be surprised if you receive a special catalog in the mail after you make a purchase, offering a percentage discount on more GoDaddy.com services.
Overall, GoDaddy.com is a very good company for domain name purchasing, hosting, and overall management. It can get frustrating when searching for a domain name because all of the good names (and the short, simple names) are already taken. The good thing is that creative word combinations are usually not taken, and that is because, well, they are creative and few have thought to purchase them. But no matter what happens, don't give up- GoDaddy.com will help you find a good domain name and will step you through the complete process, from initial purchase to web site setup to advertising. It's a good service with plenty of good things to offer; a one- stop web site shopping experience that will likely leave you feeling satisfied.
