The Bottom Line You can form the glove for your child he/she is too young and the glove is too hard. Just make sure you use leather friendly glove oil or leather softner.
I learned this trick from my husband, we start with a high quality glove. Use glove softner, how hard was that? You can purchase it in the glove section at your local retail store, or if you are out of season then go to the car section and get leather softner not cleaner! Once you have done this rub the glove down with a cloth, get a ball and play catch every day play with that glove, put a ball in it tuck it between the matress go to sleep and the next day play so the glove forms to your hands. If you forget about the glove for months it's o.k. just pull it out and play. Do not wet or bake the glove. Remember, your glove is made of leather and you have to protect it. The kids do enough to them and I'm sure they will get it wet on their own. You do not have to do all thay crazy stuff to a glove.
