I leave you the feather of my pen, left never to touch the ground! GHOSTS What do you know about campfires and making images with your shadows? Pull yourself a seat up to this campfire and join in here for a bit from your surf! From my keypad... (:^o\ ^('o')^ \{"}/ {*~*) ( : )))...silly huh! ; ) What symbol could represent a "ghost" in the "]i[nformation Age"? Well think about that for a while as you listen to this story.The existance of a "ghost" at all maybe hard to believe! Ghosts in the computer! Sounds silly doesn't`it! ...(liil)Something of an alien look?... "face to face" (/}{)~...Ghost to ghost. Would that be software or hardware "Ghostbusters"! (liil)GHOSTS (^!!^) It wasn't long ago that the term "bug" was first used to describe those inexplicable software or a plain termed computer's defects as part of engineering jargon. 1945 to be exact. With this point of a bug a mention that "Ghostwriting" could be an endless epic... ...with this in mind to your own story, if it does not pertain to your own experience, you could still have a chance to tell your tale long after the write-off has expired... ... a ghost of a chance, only a maybe. You may choose to look at any comments on the link below to see if this inspiration I projected as oppertune, really, really, really bugs anyone. As I've done before, to bug anyone is not the intended purpose in this writing. Songs arround the campfire I've added this today from a song I heard this morning ... from A LittLe South Of Sanity The Aerosmith's "Amazing" titled, and a lyric note I liked when you finaly realize and more that could pertain to some of these drifting thoughts I will mention of ghosts. Any good campfire songs you may have are good to suggest in the comments. Ironic I thought since last night I missed their prformance in tribute to Sly &The Family Stone at the Grammys with the bands Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith along with all the others. From a piece I found from book by author John Birch. I'm not familiar with the author's history but I did find a link here at Epinions to a book a book Titled "The Life Of John Birch by author Robert R. Welch. The John Birch's science bit : ""Contextualism holds that technical considerations in the mind of a working scientist are inextricably combined with social uses or ideologies that a theory will serve to validate , or with the practicle uses that will result."" Ok! ...Ok maybe this is a good time to get some good ole`campfire coffee brewing , with a little old fashioned dark molassess! The draft of this "GHOST" work was mostly complete before the song and before when I had found this old book on Newtons science; please add another spoonfull more of this science note. The author adds that ""The dominant tradition in science is that they aquire knowledge of nature by rationally assessing evidence based on observation and experimentation without concideration of its practicle utility has been challenged by a growing number who take the contextualist position."" Todays science has expanded to the point that scientist admit of their greatest scholars and graduates in their average field of the physical sciences they still only understand about 10 percent of how and why things work like they do. Even simple things we took for granted 20 years ago are subject to change , like the different stages of mass being solid, liquid, and gas. While the fields are expanding oppertunities sometimes fade away...or do they? Can an idea itself have mass? Interesting question isnt`it huh! I can't answer that but to coin the drawing as a "Ghost", concider this the draft... Has anyone else here at this campfire recently seen a bug run under their computer? If you feel a draft , move in a little closer to our campfire. The environment here is warm and the coffee has started to fill the air. While millions of new users have come to understand the oppertunities & benifits that they may find online, they will also inevitably run accross the "bugs" of the computer. I wont mention the bugs we've seen arround the stone seats of this campfire! Let me now attempt to expand this term "bug" to include the more casual user errors that are blamed on the opperators at every level. From dust in the mouse pads to sticking insert keys; saved documents that dissappear from email files to the "over the k limit" on the floppy discs; emails that arrive days later; all these apperrant spelling errors, and the sum of these "cyber-space" follies may have an equal elemental value unseen. The ideas were concieved. The material was viewed. What becomes of all this matter? In a recent magazine article, "plasma" was being suggested as being this new additional state of matter; that it is new only by discovery in theory I should note. Remeber the old solid, liquid, gas, & now plasmaas a sugguested state of matter. _._ I percieve through this transition, as you read through, you may have already picked up on an idea that other states of matter are possible and not limited to just one more, like a plasma. There could be many matters for that matter! So what does matter? Don't ANSWER, simply making a point. Never the less, of this "ghost" if it may be coined into a symbol ,note that it has many forms and is percieved in different ways. No doubt that even in this small sense that there are great scientist that will just forever simply "not believe in ghosts"! Maybe there are also "ghost" forms in the cyber world that are not of error from the product of designer dust ; revealing or not they could exist with a lack of suffient elements to have been proven by the most ballanced forms of science. The results of those in that latter ballance would lend an error of insight that the opperator was the source of ...lets say this story's draft... ...Oh now I find it! (liil) Naturaly formed as a "ghost". (l!!l) the Manufactured creature... or creature of manufacturing](!!), some double sensation. The form of a ""ghost"" without the mechanical aspects still exists and only adds to this a term known in the universe as an "Alien" inteligence. A form of artificial inteligence , that is , if the "ghost" were manufactured into existance. In this tangent aspect of "ghosts" a seperate isolated collection of reactive influences could build in a mannor that is not manufactured at all. More clearly still a "ghost", In a harder science affect, it could be literatuers cyberrealpolitik , or literatures cyberic realpolitik. A cyborg self sufficient machine, yet still within are "ghosts". A collective GHOST OF GHOSTS. There is an enormous amount of dust that could be charged with some value but in the natural it is not defined purely as created nor by some closer to the average viewers (regular people)(not scientists) to determine as "Alien" or "Artificial" much less to call rocks "inteligent". On their own could they understand our needs? our feelings? Lets put together some stones of this cyber campfire to trap the heat and finish up the brewing to drink a little more of the nice fresh cups of coffee! The mere thought of the arroma may have just sparkeled into a new real physical reallity. It is the user that I have written this for and with hopes for a fresh start and open view that while opperations may be performed with certain ease the real focus should be on the larger field inspired by a more careful approach to judgment; carefull to charge only in the limits of the positive or negative framework, and to then reaccess the framework constantly. The forgiving function. A collective F key on Ctrl & Esc. A hallow shield and maybe a gauge to determined the time and how the resonance or the resistance when there is an edification in a sense, as it first begins as conscience, and any resin left to rest the consciousness and cognition. A cyber concience~?~I don't know...The bigger so called ghost in this could be more physical than you think. The most efficient system built for inteligence may be your own. The symbols of an existance, of a form that without marking, it may not be seen! Pouring a little water on the stones now to temper any forgeing as we learn... We use computers like a crutch in some cases, and with our own understanding of how they are working we can use them for a lead; yet to where we must not lose our sites. The Sun itself last week was recorded as having expanded its own magnetic field by double. Also to be short in this is that it is my experience here that I have not made the grade yet on this consumer resource service of Epinions and have left yet again , only a draft. A cyber draft, I guess an automated sytem to lock out the public from "my own views", yet if so then maybe thats what this ""ghost" entry" is; a "cyber draft!": drawn up out of hope that someday the public could have viewed for themselves without logging in to the system. Some new things are discovered everyday. Some things we missplace. In a far out science fiction approach, here I will add in, the unexpected oddity ; in this case an "Odyssey" which haunted a year in the film industry. How could 2001 not return to America's screens in the year that bears its number?" . 30 years straight this aired either on screen or broadcast on tv networks... ~*/}{) Now have we come face to face with a cyber phenomena? Also,In a more recent and more pleasant interest, from a Time Magazine issue (january 26 page F1)(2006) I may not remeber this exactly even with my old notes but I'll give it a try; "Face to face men and women enjoy especially designed to cleanse and exfoliate their different types of skin" The title may have been "YOUR FIRST SPA VACATION" , pg F1 , its a good read. The coralation here? Well at least "my grammar""was not correct so you know that this is"" my"" error and not an error in "Time". The importance is not just what is beneath the framework or the framework itself , nore how they each are teterring in their environment. Interesting anyway?
