Thanks for the input, but just installing the UDF reader posed the biggest problem for me. (Though supposedly compatible, XP would reject the newest version.) Again, all I am downloading and installing is the UDF Reader (by Adaptec), no other component has been installed.

Install everything BUT Easy CD Creater and Take2 as these are what causes XP problems. I donot use Roxio, but during beta testing a lot of other testers reported this and this is what I remember caused all the problems.

Well, that I found. However, I am using the HP CDwriter and with it came a version 3 of DirectCD. I agree, I could solve the issue by actually purchasing the Adaptec software, but frankly I don't use it enough to justify the $69.

I think that issue falls into HP's responsibility. Thanks for the feedback though.
