Pros: Vibrant color; good brightness; great overall picture quality; convenient features; reasonable price
Cons: Slow when changing channels; a bit heavy
The Bottom Line: A great TV at a reasonable price. Proof that CRT is not a dead technology. Should work great for bedrooms, kitchens, offices, lounges, or basements.

I was looking for a new television around 19 to 24 inches, but was disappointed to find that there are very few new CRT's left on the market (none of them HD). I was not willing to get an LCD television if I didn't have to, as the overall picture quality tends to be not as good, and they are much more expensive.
I found this sharp-looking 20 inch flat-screen television at Target for about half the price of similarly-sized 19 inch and 22 inch LCD TV's. Although it's standard-definition and cannot display 720p or 1080i HD resolution, it is digital and where it lacks in resolution, it more than makes up in contrast, color vibrance, and fast response time, areas where its LCD peers tend to struggle in. But being only 20 inches, resolution doesn't matter as much.
Being a CRT, it is bulkier and heavier than comparable LCD televisions, but the way I look at it is that I'm not going to be moving it nearly as often as I will be watching it. Although I had to walk over half a mile with the 50+ pound thing to get it home (as I don't currently have a car), I believe it's worth it.
The multiple inputs make it useful as well: RF and composite/S-video/component AV in back, composite AV up front, composite AV output and a front headphone jack (a big plus). When I connect my Dell Inspiron laptop to it via S-video cable, I can't help but notice how much better the TV is at displaying the true colors.
It requires you to scan for analog and digital channels first before you can tune in to any, and I think it misses a couple analog cable channels on the way, but it's not a big deal as you can turn channel skip off (or with the remote, go directly to the channel). It does change channels a bit slower than I'd like, but again not too big of a deal.
The on/off timer is another nice feature I like. The speakers seem to actually be on the side of the TV, not behind the faux mesh on the bottom of the front panel, but they work well at five watts each.
It is nice to see a quality CRT from a decent brand still on the market. I would highly recommend this TV to anyone looking for a kitchen or bedroom television, or to anyone on a tight budget who needs a new television. Why pay twice as much for a similarly-sized LCD with comparable picture quality?
