You are right that Berserk is a little "out there", but I actually love when shows and movies work against the norm. Makes you scratch your head sometimes, but it is more fun that way!

My newest anime fav's are Avatar, (my boys and I are addicted to it) Cowboy Beebop and Samurai Champloo.
Samurai Champloo is waaaay racey and not for kids (For instance one episode at a brothel comes to mind so parent make sure your children aren't watching this it's a PG13 for sure) but too cool though in my humble opinion.
Worth staying up late to watch on Cartoon network. Also out on DVD.

I dunno if I can agree with Berserk because there were too many loose ends - like a big chunk was missing. I will admit though, that otherwise it was pretty good. Maybe the animators got bored and wanted to just wrap it up real quick, haha.
