Vacations To Go, our travel agent, allowed Princess Cruises to book an impossible flight schedule on Delta Airlines to South America, and would not change it without more money insisting it was a “legal” connection (40 minutes in Atlanta- that turned our to be 22 minutes since Delta measures their arrival time when wheels touch down !!), missed flight because airline was overbooked and Delta closed door early. Did not get luggage until end of cruise. VTG and Princess told me I should have bought their expensive travel insurance and abandoned me when customs removed a pouch from my luggage and I asked them to investigate. Spent entire 16 day cruise without proper clothes. A complete disaster- I have traveled all over the world (35 trips) and would never use Vacations To Go/Princess Cruises/Delta Airlines again. Be forewarned of the Air Deviation Scheme. It works like this. You book a cruise and make your final payment. About 20-30 days before departure the cruise line gives you your air schedule. You note that your have many short and/or tight connections and express your concern. They tell you that it is a legal connection but they will change it for an Air Deviation Fee (One man I spoke with paid an additional $1400 to get an acceptable schedule.) You are now in the penalty phase of your booking so if you cancel the trip they will keep all or most of your money. Insist in writing that you have final approval of the air schedule and that Princess will change it at no cost if you are not fully satisfied.
