Inflexible return policy

I received a gift from my Amazon baby registry from BabyAge. I later learned that the product contained some potential toxins. Even though it was past the 30 day window for returns, I contacted BabyAge's customer service and asked them to make an exception, given that my product was unopened. They refused to do so. When I asked to speak to a manager, it took over a month for them to get back to me and when they did, they again refused my request without even allowing me to speak to a manager. Many stores who will make reasonable exceptions to their return policies, particularly when it comes to baby products that are often purchased months in advance off of gift registries. At a minimum, they should have let me plead my case to a supervisor. My advice -- go elsewhere.
