This is a terrific workout machine. Even better in contrast to others on the market if you need it for home use. It is well designed, relatively quiet, smooth in resistance and works the whole body (most aerobic machines don't work the abdomen or arms at all). I like it better than the Concept 2 rower I use in the gym.
The computer display, on other hand, is poorly designed. It is nearly impossible to read (totally impossible in low light) and manual. It doesn't start when you start exercising and doesn't pause when you stop, so you constantly have to strain to reach up and push buttons to make it do what you want. Since it senses when you row (the stroke meter), it should have been easy to pause the timer when you pause wihtout intervention. It also should have included a monitor for heart rate (you have to buy an attachment if you want that). But I bought it to exercise with (if and) when I watch TV. It works perfectly for that.
One caveat: it's expensive, so be sure you are committed to rowing (and have tried it) before buying. Also, be aware that it's painful to sit down and stand up if you have bad knees (the machine is very low to the ground). Be ready to assemble it. Not that hard to do, but it may frustrate you if you expect it to arrive ready to go. And keep the water chlorinated if you want to avoid algae.
