Defective Design - RUDE customer svc

I purchased a Hoover Wind tunnel because of the good reviews and it worked great for 4 months.  After that, the belt started to fly off so I took it in for a replacement.  The same problem kept occurring after the repair and Hoover has one of the rudest customer service departments I have ever encountered.  The repair center explained to me that the recently changed ownership and the quality has gone down the tubes.
The bottom line is that the machine is still in the shop and the bill keeps growing because Hoover will not honor their warranty.  Their claim is that because the problem started with a belt slipping, it's not covered under warrany.  My problem is that it's been in a shop for 2 months now and it still doesn't work.  Nobody can get the belt to stay on.
Before buying one of these machines, just go to a vacuum repair place and ask the staff for their review.  You'll get an earful.  Stay away!!!
