Listening, you'd swear that Eric Clatpon, Jack Bruce, and Ginger Baker haven't aged a day. The Eagles - Farewell Tour: Live in Melbourne Australia This recent release followed the almost as awesome Hell Freezes Over Tour Joe Walsh, Don Henley, Glenn Frye all rock out in truly amazing performances that wouldn't all fit on one DVD! Every classic Eagles tune, as well as classic tunes from the artists respective solo careers all rock on this 2 DVD concert set with an awesome 5.1 DTS soundtrack.

David Gilmour - Live Major Pink Floyd fan, but you didn't like all those other musicians on Roger Water's the Wall? Let David Gilmour entertain you with this outstanding concert album where he revisits many old Floyd Chestnuts and performs them in a way that you haven't heard. He even throws in a couple tunes from former band mate Syd Barrett. Shine on you crazy diamond!

Led Zeppelin Live On CD and DVD-Audio this was releases as How the West Was Won but if you want to see these classic rockers perform as well as hear them, it doesn't get any better than this. Far better than the arty Song Remains the Same and more in keeping in tradition with the classic Zeppelin Style than Page & Plant UnLedded this double DVD concert is the definitive Led Zeppelin concert DVD set. All digitally remastered in 5.1 Surround Sound, these DVDs showcase songs from four classic Led Zeppelin concerts; 1970 at the Royal Albert Hall, 1975 at London's Earl Court, Knebworth in 1979 and Madison Square Garden in 1973. hey hey mama, gonna make you move, gonna make you sweat gonna make you groove

Metallica S&M Ah, you love classical music, but you also love heavy metal, and you can only afford to buy ONE concert on DVD. What's an eclectic music lover to do? Buy this incredible 2 DVD set featuring Lars, James, Kirk and Jason together with Michael Kamen and the San Fransisco Symphony Orchestera. You'll be glad you did, almost 3 hours of classic Metallica tunes with a classical orchestra backup provide an incredible mix in Surround Sound. The discs also let you select just Metallica or just the Orchestra if you'd like.

Rolling Stones - Four Flicks From a band that spans four generations, this four DVD set is a great collection of four different performances by the Rolling Stones. The band performs their four decades of hits in four separate shows spanning to small theaters to huge stadiums. You won't be saying I can't get no Satisfaction with this four DVD set. 4 hours of the Stones in 5.1 Surround or PCM stereo.

Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense Start making sense and go out and get this early DVD that was already outstanding in the days of VHS. Its been beautifully remastered in 5.1 Surround Sound and starts off with just David Byrne on stage, and ends with the entire band performing. Do you have a concert, that's better than this? Nothing is better than this

U-2 - Elevation I've been lucky enough to see U-2 a couple times, and this exceptional show recorded in 2001 at Boston's Fleet Center really captures why Bono and friends are such an incredible concert experience. The 2 DVD set gives you 5.1 surround sound, and a variety of camera angles to customize your concert experience on a 2 DVD set.

Stevie Vai - Live at the Astoria You love exceptionally well done heavy metal shows? How about this rocking concert from guitar player extrordinaire Stevie Vai. He has a resume that would impress any heavy metal enthusiast including Frank Zappa, David Lee Roth and Whitesnake. Vai's own selection of songs on this concert show his style of guitar playing in a way that will have you shaking your head. Who taught him how to play so well? Joe Satriani!

Yes - Live Symphonic Are you one of those art rock fans from the seventies? Nothing says art rock like YES, and out of all there concert releases, I think this one is the best. Its an over 3 hour Yes concert with the full symphony orchestra treatment, and they never sounded better. Original Yes members Steve Howe, Chris Squire, Jon Anderson and Alan White are all on this tour with the European Festival Orchestra All your favorite classic Yes tunes are there, including Close to the Edge, Roundabout, Starship Troopers and I've Seen All Good People.

BONUS SECTION - If you love soft silky jazz, pick up Diana Krall - Live in Paris, I have converted many of my friends into Diana Krall fans by putting this outstanding Paris show on my home theater system.

The ten shows (and bonus show) I have picked below are for a combination of excellence in the the performance of the band, the cinematography of the show, and the sound quality of the recording. These all do happen to be bands that I enjoy, or I wouldn't have watched their concert DVD, but which band I like better than another played the least role in my selections here. I tried to pick concerts that really showed particular bands at their best. If you like this list, but didn't see your favorite band, Fear Not, I will write another list of outstanding concerts to own. I've seen hundreds of bands live, and I've watched over 300 concerts on DVD so you don't have to. Let me know what bands you like, I'll tell you if I've seen a good concert by them thats available on DVD. A good set of concert DVDs is a great way to supplement your CD or MP3 collection, and they make you feel like you were there in a way your little MP3 player with earbuds just won't match!
