Pros: holds many bottles, looks decent enough to put in the living or dining room.
Cons: cooling unit noisy, requres replacement every 2 years.
The Bottom Line: Avoid this product and this company. The cooling units do not last and customer service is very poor.

I bought this wine cellar in 2005, and less than two years later, the cooling unit stopped cooling sufficiently. It cooled partially, but it would not achieve the programmed temperature of 57 degrees (with ambient temperature in the 70s). The cooling unit has a one year warranty, so since it was after the warranty period expired, the company happily sold me a replacement (upgraded) cooling unit for $210US. Less than two years after the new cooling unit was installed, it also stopped cooling sufficiently. The new cooling unit failed exactly the same way as the original. Coincidence? I think not. Of course, the company denies that there are any flaws in the design, but the evidence speaks for itself. THE COOLING UNIT IS NOT DESIGNED TO LAST. I called customer service and the CSR was very rude when I tried to discuss the multiple failures. It sounded like I was not the first with this experience.
Buy this product only if you are willing to repair or replace the cooling unit every 2 years at a cost of 20-30% of your original purchase price... that's 20-30% every 2 years. The hassle and cost of frequent maintenance makes this product much less appealing than it originally seemed to me. I wish I could have read this review before I purchased it.
