I saw that a month or two ago and actually just revised my list yesterday to include that movie. It bumped Charlie and the Chocolate Factory off, which seemed like a good thing to me. Prizewinner was a truly excellent movie and I wish it would have gotten more publicity!

Particularly liked that you included one of my top movies from last year - The Prizewinner of Defiance, Ohio. Woody Harrelson was very good in this movie.

Thanks!

the filmmakers generally do a good job in cramming a pretty thick book into a film of a reasonable length.

Agreed. I remember hearing rumors that they were going to have to split the film up into two segments and release them months apart, and i'm so glad they didn't. I don't think I could've waited that long!

Nice list; even though I've only seen two or three 2005 releases, this provided some good rental suggestions.

I seriously would do that because it drives me crazy not to have a review there, but I plan on writing one myself Tuesday or Wednesday. On account of the three-legged write-off I have cut down on my movie activity somewhat because my partner doesn't usually write in that category :).

I liked King Kong, I just don't think it will be one I can watch over and over.

Thanks, I intend to have VERY happy crusing! I just finished a take-home exam, which is the last thing I had to do before I leave. Now I'm in vacation mode!

Once again, great review and great movies. I too enjoyed the Lion, Witch and Wardrobe, but I really wasn't a fan of King Kong!

Good job!

Yes, I read your list earlier and was pleased at the similarities.

I thought it was just great! Sometimes all you want is a laugh out loud funny movie, and that one certainly fit the bill. It was one of Jim Carey's best efforts I think.

We agree on a few and... to nobody's surprise, I suspect - our number one. Glad to see someone else had "Fun with Dick and Jane" in their list, I've been criticised for including it in mine! :-D

Cheers,

Chris, I did know that about Rosario but you are right, my review didn't make that clear. I changed it to clarify :).

Rosario Dawson of course was not one of the original voices of REnt...(the way you wrote your blurb on it, makes it sound like she was) but she does a great job in the film.
