"So I guess the good (the action) outweighs the bad (the stupid stuff) for me."

Not for me. This movie was extremely disappointing. It's got to be the most faithless adaption of all time.

Um, there are numerous reasons that she could be his daughter. She could be adopted. She could be his stepdaughter who never really knew her birth father and considers him her real father. And still, she could possibly be his birth daughter. Not all mixed race couples will produce light skinned offspring.

The daughter was a particularly bad example of a Hollywood trend called "color-blind casting". It's so idiotic in this movie because its (a) done for no reason, and (b) makes the "hero" of the movie, Goldblum's Dr. Malcolm, look like a complete fool who believed his girfriend/wife when she told him the daughter was *actually* his, when it's blatantly obvious she is not. (In a film series that features DNA prominently, the good ol' Doc badly needs to get a paternity DNA test done pronto!)

I have to admit, though, that I actually like the movie. Yeah, it deviates from the novel, which was superior in so many ways. And, yeah, the whole daughter thing is a complete and total mistake in this movie (her gymnastics scene is the worst!). And, yeah, some of the characters are borderline imbeciles given their incredibly stupid behavior. But, despite those major flaws, I actually still like the movie because the action scenes in it are well-done - the exciting attack on the hunter's camp, the whole T-Rex cliff scene, and then the dynamic Raptors attacking in the field scene. So I guess the good (the action) outweighs the bad (the stupid stuff) for me.

LOL. Sorry. I meant it (the random comment) in a more "joking" way. Same thing goes for the actual article.

For the record... Malcolm doesn't have any kids in either of the novels, in the first movie he says he has three, and it turns out in the second movie he has one...

Did I say that? I marked your review Very Helpful, if you'll look. I certainly wouldn't have done that for a racist. It would have been nice if you had responded to what I said though, instead of your random comment.

I didn't have a problem with Jeff Goldblum having a black daughter. There are a ton of reasons why that could have happened, and I was happy the film didn't feel the need to explain it.
