Pogo.com is a gaming website that has been around for many years. I first used the site probably 5 or 6 years ago, and I still play on the site today.
There is a wide variety of games to choose from. The games are single player, multiplayer, as well as some team games. Most are very easy to learn, that just about any age can play and enjoy them. Games usually just involve pointing and clicking with your mouse. Only rarely will you need to actually use the keyboard for games. Some of the games require thinking, but not so much that you will want to quit. All games have rule sections that you can read, if you don't know what to do.
Overall, Pogo has probably around 100 games total. The games are split into several categories:
Board (checkers, chess, dominoes and more)
Card (bridge, hearts, gin, solitaire and more)
Freebie Casino (bingo, blackjack, keno, slots and more)
Puzzle (poppit, jigsaw puzzle and more)
Sports/Arcade (pool, bowling and more)
Word (crossword, scrabble and more)
The graphics for games are very colorful and look great. You can even customize how certain aspects of games look. This is a nice feature to have, because sometimes the regular setup isn't the one you personally want.
Games award you tokens, which can be used to buy tickets for a prize drawing. Also: many games feature cash prizes! If you win the game, you earn a jackpot spin. The spin can award you the current jackpot dollar amount, or more tokens. Don't count on winning cash much though, there is hundreds of thousands of people on Pogo everyday.
Besides games, there is a chat bar in games that allows you to chat with other people in the game currently. So if you need help, you could ask in chat. Most people are usually friendly, so it's a good social network as well. If people are rude, you can always use the mute feature and you wont see what they are posting in the chat. You even have a friend list, where you can find out where your friends are at anytime.
Most of Pogo is free, but if you pay a small price you can get more content. You can either pay by month or year, however year is usually cheaper to do. The bonus content for paying includes more games, a character you can personalize to go on your profile, more prizes on the jackpot spin, as well as badges. Badges are icons that appear on your profile, once you've completed a certain task in a game.
Pogo works well on just about any computer, and no downloads are required to play the games. Your internet speed will effect how long the game takes to load however. Dialup is the slowest, but overall isn't a big deal. If you load the game a few days in a row, the game will be quicker. Also, when there is a lot of people in games: the game room can be harder to load. This applies to all internet speeds, not just dialup.
Overall Pogo is a fun website that's for anyone. I highly recommend it for people that love playing games.
