I ordered the 3M 8000 masks from the National Allergy website. I was a bit miffed because their site said the item was in stock when it really wasn't. I called their customer service and a very nice woman explained that this product was on closeout with a special price and going to be discontinued after they sold out. But with the swine flu thing, they sold much more than they had in stock over the weekend and their site continued to show the product in stock since they only download orders during the week. She said this type of thing was very rare for them. They also decided to restock the product by taking it off clearance and found out 3M had increased the cost to them, which explains the price increase later seen on their site. Even though I had to wait a bit longer and I wish they would have let me know all this rather than having to call them, the masks were shipped in a reasonable time so I really am pleased overall. And I will say that I don't beleive they are making an effort to profit on this swine flu scare or you'd see them making a big deal about it all over their website and increasing the prices of all their masks not just this one.
