The Bottom Line: Save yourself some frustration down the road, go with another finance company.

Me and my wife purchased our first home three years ago, and was referred to countrywide through our realtor. We have always made higher payments than our minimum and always on time. We had no problems until we tried to refianance. We received numerous calls and emails to refinance with them and when the interest rate bottomed out we tried to refinance. First they called us and asked if we wanted to refi so we said yes and started the process, or so we thought. We gave them all our info, which they should of already had, and was told we would receive a call the next day with our quote. We never received that call. We called them back and they had no info for us, so we went back through the whole process four times. We finally receive a quote telling us we would need to bring over $11000.00 to close. This is crazy! I go to my home town personal bank and get all of the quote numbers exactly within 15 minutes over the phone. Instead of paying $11000.00, I had to pay $500 and got a lower interest rate through my bank. The horror story is not over. I had to get an agreement signed from Countrywide that normally would be done within one or two weeks. Took almost two months, only because they just hadn't signed it. The confirmed they had it and never would tell us when they planned on signing or returning it. I could not get in contact with anyone that could answer my questions. Even when I showed up at their office they told me to call customer service, which is a joke. No one knows the answer to your questions and they don't know who to tell you to call. I write this review for one reason and that is to save someone the headache we have went through with them. Countrywide does not have customer service.
