Great food and good conversation... but no towel dance. There was a guy in a kilt right outside ESPN Zone, though...

Wish I'd been there, but I was on my way to Scotland instead. So I had a great excuse!

Thanks for stopping by, Liz. It was nice to meet you and the M&G and I'm enjoying your Beatle reviews. Mine are a lot harder to find than yours, so let me know if you want me to send links.

And here I thought the entire site knew about my obsessive Beatles fandom. Perhaps I have a reason to finish that Please Please Me review after all.

Anyway, my computer time is limited, but I just wanted to say how great it was to meet you and thank you for the comments you've left recently, which I will respond to (in addition to looking up your own Beatle reviews) when I'm back online full-time.

No need to apologize, you silly boy. Just make sure you're at every meet I'm at from now on and I get hugs! Perhaps then I'll be able to forgive you.

Sorry I didn't chat with you more Caroline, particularly since you left such a nice comment! And I feel doubly the idiot for not mentioning you. DOH! It was very nice to see you again and to know that you are back.

...thanks for all the great comments! I can think of no higher praise than my guitar playing puts babies to sleep. Really! And I do have a very nice picture of you and Belle, MT.

I didn't want to stare at your tattoo, Nancy, particularly since my wife was nearby. And Sarah, you and your mom are great listeners, which is the other half of the performing equation. Tom, if you want to get together in DC, drop me a line. I promise NOT to bring a guitar!

Jo, I should have told you to mingle more. You were at a well-situated table but there was a lot of action at either end of the room. Still, it was a pleasure to meet you.

Belle says she loves your guitar playing :) I think you actually almost got her to sleep during the group photo. She fell asleep in the cab on the way to penn station!

I was very happy to meet you and your lovely wife.
You were such a freindly, talkative person to meet. After reading your reveiws and a bit of chatting on the boards it was a pleasure to see you in person.
We did enjoy your musical talents!

Several people showed up late but made an impression, such as ned1 (Nancy). She briefly exhibited a new tattoo that I saw most of. I'd have to get to know her MUCH better to see the rest.

thanks for the kind words Bob. If we hadn't made that stop at Denny's we would have made it sooner. As for seeing the rest of the warning label - I did have on super low rise jeans - so there couldn't have been that much left to see. Perhaps the bottom bones under the skull. there were some photos taken which may show the whole tat.

and tom - as for those lost weekend comments - don't you believe what anyone has to say about my behavior at karaoke or the Irish pub afterwards. I behaved about as well well as my role model Barbie would have - cripes that isn't saying much for me - now is it

It was close to 80 and as I'm reading these I realize how many people I didn't get to meet which is disappointing to me. I think after the first hour or so we sort of congregated into our group area. The room was long so I could imagine people at either end I never saw. jo who doesn't walk on water, is quiet but very approachable. Thanks to Bob for that accurate description.

but we talked enough for you to figure out I do walk on water:) I had a great time as well. Hope to be able to go to another one. As I read these I realize how many people I didn't see. Where were they? Joubert for example I never saw and Amykhar. Oh well, next time. jo

Hmmm . . .from the long list of names you provided I am sure we have
many more of these 'lost weekend' essays yet to come.

And was the attendance really close to 80..?!? That sounds incredible.
Certainly too much for any one member to absorb.

Very nicely said.

Since I wasn't holding a guitar pick at the time, I was forced to play recognizable things that could be finger-picked. That's somewhat limiting but was glad to hear that it worked out.

Thanks for the comment!

I was impressed by your guitar stylings. From Zeppelin to Kansas, you covered a lot of ground.
