it's a scary thing to face one's fears and hurts - I think that sometimes we have to embrace the truth of these things in order to come to terms with who we are.

and the occasional real life embrace between good friends helps too... glad I got the chance to share another with you in New York

Nice! (Reply to this comment)

The way you connected your personal experience with that of Epinions.

How is it that you, kristina and a few others can turn up at these shindigs all over the country?

I guess I should ask you at one nearby to me, bob tomato, but I have never gotten around to it.

I heard that the next M&G will be held in Las Vegas. If so, I'll definitely be attending and hope that you and your wife will be, too. It would be both an honor and a pleasure to meet you both.

I just know Emily and my baby brother are in Heaven dancing with the angels.

I was afraid to come here out of fear of the tears. It seems that they come a lot - but only when I don't think about them.

It was good - as it should be - to see the 'better halves' (that being you and the pear).

Hives are bad but life is mostly good.

Much love, KFH

Bob, I just knew, while you were dropping forks all over... (Reply to this comment)

...the Zone floor that afternoon, that I wanted to talk much more with you. But alas, time constraints and a substantial turnout kept our visit short.

A pleasure meeting you and thanks for Keeping it Real.

My mind is reeling, hunting for the perfect Sting quotation, but I've come up blank. Awesome write-up. Inspiring!

You blow everyone else completely out of the water. I see myself in what you've written here and it's not a particularly good reflection but it is what it is and I'm grateful for the eye-opening. No matter how goofy I get, I am confident you know that you have my respect and friendship. I am truly blessed.

Strategic (Reply to this comment)

I thought it was very strategic how you sat yourself right next to Lorrie. Out of all the people there, I think you were the person I would've selected to talk shop with her.

We chatted all too briefly in NY, though we get to chat a lot from time to time in our regular day. At least there was no horrible Bears/49ers to put us through this time.

Larry Allen? They might just win a few this year.

Couldn't Have Said It Better Myself (Reply to this comment)

One thing that I sort of wish had happened in retrospect is that you and I got more time to talk.

As snotty and attitudinal as I can appear sometimes, I truly respect your opinion on matters Epinions related as well as personal. Don't know if you know this or not-but you were the *last* person I talked to before deciding whether to take my job last summer.

You're a good man, Tomato. I'll tell ya in person hopefully in Vegas.

hey there Andrew... (Reply to this comment)

...
I am surprised to find myself leaving the first comment.

Perhaps it is because your words almost demand a moment of reflection, of a realization of the depth they come from, of what they really mean. And how they apply to each of us.

you said...
" Lorrie, Greg and Andy were all very open and honest with me, and shared their own views about epinions and the community as well as some of the things that they hoped to accomplish soon."

Would not we all love to be the 'fly on the wall' at those meetings where they hash out their vision of the future. Perhaps we wish that vision goes beyond dollars and cents and IT upgrades. But we certainly hope and pray that it recognizes the us that you so clearly set out here.

Very nicely said.
