I want to give you a quick rundown of how I came to use Netherweb for my hosting company. I wanted a personal website that had more than 10 megabytes of space and didn't have banner ads (i.e. Geocities, Tripod, Angelfire). I wanted to have my own domain. I didn't want to be paying an arm and a leg either. I started searching on the net for what I wanted. My husband uses Dreamhost but I wanted to try something different to see if there was anything out there beside Dreamhost that was just as good if not better. I came across Netherweb. All that they offered for the price they quoted was incredible. I immediately registered my domain through Nethernic and had Netherweb host it.
I have now been using them for a year, and there was only one day when there was any downtime. I even got refunded for the downtime. Anytime I contacted them, I got immediate answers. They were friendly and quick.
I am currently using the Basic Plan. The Basic plan is $10 per month or $110 annually. Bandwidth is $4 per extra gigabyte of transfer and it includes the following:
50 megabytes of space
1 POP3 email account
5 email forwarding aliases
2 gigabytes of transfer per month
All of this plus basics that come with every plan:

The total I paid for the first time setup was: $28.75. This was the one time $10 setup fee and then my pro-rated first month and my last month. If you were to setup your hosting on the 1st of the month, it would be an even $30. I was up and running about 2 hours later.
Their control panel is fairly easy to navigate, but can be confusing if you don't recognize some of the web "jargon". Their customer service is always willing to help you though.
These are the features of the Netherweb Control Panel:
Billing Manager
The billing manager allows you to change your contact information, print current invoices, and view past invoices. It also will let you add future invoices to your statement so you can pay for multiple months at once. Cron Tab Editor
The crontab editor lets you run scheduled scripts (i.e., for maintenance) on your web account. The Crontab editor is an online interface to the popular unix service that allows you to schedule programs to run automatically during the course of the day.
File Manager
The filemanager is the HTML gateway to your webserver. You can create, upload, rename, move, delete, chmod, edit, and view your files and directories.
Find and Replace
It does exactly what it says. It finds a user specified file in a user specified directory and replaces it with another user specified file.
Install Extras
The things you can do here are: install free CGI scripts, activate SQL, create Java chat rooms, and activate frontpage extentions.
Mail Editor
The mail editor allows you to edit your mail settings online. You can edit, add, and remove aliases, pop3 accounts, catchalls, autoresponders, and mailing lists.
Server Status
The server status page allows you to monitor the status of the server that your site is on.
Site Manager
The site manager is where you can control some of the miscellaneous aspects of your site. Here you can edit your error message documents, change your password, and configure your log files.
Site Statistics
The site statistics page is where you can view statistics about accesses to your site. You can find out what websites you were linked from, what operating system they were using, what browser they were using, what someone did a search for on Google or Yahoo! to get to your site, etc.
SQL Administration
The SQL admin section of the control panel is a web interface with the MySQL server. They do have more info on what MySQL is so you can learn about it.
User Manager
The user manager is the part of the control panel where you can manage all of your usernames, passwords, and groups. You can use additional usernames to create password protected directories. The specific things you can do here are: create usernames, delete usernames, update existing usernames, create groups, update groups, and delete groups.
Subdomain Manager
The Subdomain Manager allows you to create and manage subdomains. A subdomain is the first part of the domain (i.e. subdomain.yourdomain.com). The subdomains www, ftp, mail, and mail2 are already in use. There are three things you can do in the subdomain manager: create new subdomains, edit existing subdomains, and delete subdomains.
They also provide a "First How To" section that can give you the basics of how to use their control panel, and how to setup your website. This gives you the basics of website management.
I would highly recommend using Netherweb for a hosting service you you want excellent quality and quantity for a low price!
