Alex in "Clockwork Orange" spoke of "Lovely, lovely, Ludwig van" and the "Od to Joy" is there.

Kubrick introduced many to Rossini's "Thieving Magpie" overture along with the opening of "Zarathustra" in 2001.

And I first heard Albinoni's Adagio in "Last Year at Marienbad." Oliver Stone's use of Samuel Barber's "Adagio for Strings" introduced it to some new audiences (and the music was used again in Julian Schanbel's "Before Night Falls").
