Sadly, I think his newfound fame is getting to him. He keeps on doing more and more things that have nothing to do with comedy (like those MLB playoff promos - the only good that came out of them were the SNL parodies). He needs to stop trying to be the biggest star in the history of everything and be more like the hungry young comedian he once was.

Re: Why Front Row was empty (Reply to this comment)

Well, that's a nice idea, but it was poorly executed. Saying thank you to a handful of fans shouldn't come at the expense of the thousands of others. Especially when we got out of the show well after the T had stopped running.

Waaaa, waaaaaaaa (Reply to this comment)

I am a big dane fan, huge, and I just got done watching the new special on HBO and i have to say i was very very disappointed. His new material just didn't have the swagger and zip that his old did. And his skit about crying uncontrollably, not really the gut busting realization comedy that you expect from dane. The funny thing about dane is that his skits are easy to relate to for nearly everyone and point out the funny things in life, but the bits he did on the special just didn't seem like they were as universally funny as his old material. My dad watched dane for the fist time on HBO, and the only time i heard him laugh is when dane grabbed one from his old bag of tricks. I was sad to see dane forcing his jokes. Now let me say again, I love dane, and i hope his new found fame is not getting to him, and that this poor performance was just a fluke. Im going to listen to retaliation.

Why Front Row was empty (Reply to this comment)
by joed1979
Dane Cook purposely left this row open so he could find the furthest row back, and take them down to the front row as a thank you to them. This is why they were empty NOT because they weren't sold. Go to DaneCook.com and he explains it.

Tip: writing in all capital letters means you're yelling. Let's use our indoor voices here.
Nevertheless, I'm glad you had a great time at the show. Trust me, he was not drained for the second show. He was still very animated and put on an awesome show. I can't wait to see this one on tv or dvd.

1ST SHOW @ THE GARDEN (Reply to this comment)
by tripsix
I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THE FIRST SHOW @ THE GARDEN(THE 730 SHOWING) ROCKED. THE SOUND SEEMED FINE, BUT THAT MAY HAVE BEEN BECAUSE I WAS CLOSE. IT STARTED A FER MINUTES LATE, BUT WAS WELL WORTH IT. WE ORIGINALLY HAD LOGE SEATS,BUT CAMERAS WERE IN OUR WAY. WE COMPLAINED TO THE MAN THAT SAT US. HE SUGGESTED WE SPEAK TO SOMEONE ELSE. WE DID, AND THEY MOVED US TO 4TH ROW. THE REASON ALL THE CLOSE SEATS WERE EMPTY WAS BECAUSE THEY WERE ALL COMP SEATS. THE TICKETS THE MAN GAVE US WERE COMPED, AND EVERYONE ELSE SITTING THERE WAS COMPED AS WELL. I CAN'T SPEAK FOR THE 2ND SHOW, BUT THE 1ST ONE WAS INCREDIBLE. HE SEEMED TO KEEP TOWARDS OUR SIDE OF THE STAGE AND HE PUT ON AN AWESOME PERFORMANCE. WE TRAVELLED FROM LONG ISLAND TO SEEM HIM AND IT WAS SOOOOO AWESOME, ANYONE WHO IS A DANE COOK FAN WOULD HAVE LOVED IT. HE SHOULD HAVE NEVER BOOKED 2 SHOWS BACK TO BACK. IT IS TOO MUCH, HE IS AN ANIMATED COMIC. 1 SHOW ALONE WOULD HAVE DRAINED HIM.

Sorry, but sitting in the top row listening to the Killers' album run through twice left a sour taste in my mouth even after the show.
AMEN to that...
