Kitchen Gadgetry = Black Hole

Kitchen Gadgetry was prompt in only one respect: taking my money. They debited my account 4 days after I placed the order online. Nearly 3 weeks later (having expected receipt within a 9- to 14-day window), my product was still undelivered. Order status inquiries: ignored. Phones & e-mails: unanswered. Leaving voicemail messages: impossible, given a perpetually full mailbox.
When I poked around a little more diligently, I discovered I was not the only one with complaints about Kitchen Gadgetry. In an attempt to light a fire under "customer service" (owner Alex Gomez), I e-mailed him asking him to let me know within 2 business days of his company's good-faith efforts either to deliver my order or to issue a refund. Lacking a response, I wrote, I'd contact the NC Attorney General's consumer protection bureau, the BBB of eastern NC, Raleigh-area consumer watchdogs, and forums like these. Still no answer -- and this was the owner I'd written to!
I was beginning to worry that the company had taken my money, closed its doors, and fled into the night. After I submitted my complaints, I informed Gomez via e-mail that I had done so. Suddenly he got very responsive. The next day I received a terse e-mail from him--with no apologies--saying he'd canceled my order & was refunding my money. The credit showed up 2 days later.
This is a seriously flaky operation; I would never, ever recommend that anyone do business with them.
