Looking for a good gift for friends and/or relatives this Christmas? Well, you can never go wrong buying books. Currently in the book stores, there are many "Books for Dummies," and there is one out there that I just bought called, DOG HEALTH and NUTRITION FOR DUMMIES, written by M. Christine Zink who specializes in sports medicine for our canine friends.
Why not a sports medicine book for our furry pooches? If you're active like I am and go out for daily runs, or hike or take long walks with your pooch, this books supplies plenty of information on what a good dog owner should have on hand if, and when, your four-legged friend becomes ill, or gets hurt., such as a canine first-aid kit. Bet it never occurred to you that having such a kit would be useful.
This book covers all kinds of useful information for your pet. There is a chapter on canine health, information on how to keep your dog healthy, preventive maintenance which could in the long run save you some dollars on those always way too high vet bills! It will help you understand how to deal with your veterinarian and whether it makes sense to buy pet insurance for your dog.
Good nutrition for your dog is also mentioned, suggesting that good old fashioned home cooking can be an added plus to your dog's happy and healthy life. Easting the same thign every day must be terribly boring for a dog!
There are many other wonderful topics in this book that you will find useful. I really think that if you have someone in your family, or a friend, who loves their pet, that they will get a lot out of this book. And as with all the "Dummy" books there is always a lot of humor in them to bring a smile to your face. Check it out, it may be just the right gift for the right person.
The book is published by Hungry Minds, Inc.
