I doubt I'll ever make it to 900.
Something I missed, first time through your review of HOTEL RWANDA: Would you check that Churchill quote?
Politicians tend to borrow good lines from each other (as Shakespeare did, before copywright laws), but it is usually attributed to FDR. Churchill might well have said it first.
The present occupant of the White House won a second term by wrapping himself in the rhetoric of these two giants. (And probably by constantly reminding us that he was a kind of "fear remover." Fear. I'm afraid, must be faced and understood.) I should hate to think that children seventy years from now will think that George W. Bush said the line in question.
Anyway, I'd like to know what you find out.

First let me say, congrats on hitting the big #900, this is no easy task. Second, I wanted to explain my delay in rating this as I debated for a few days. Subjectively, I am going with "very helpful".
Since some of your Anti-War flicks were written several years ago, for example your review on the movie Grand Illusion was written back in December of 2003 and another movie review was written in March of 2004. Okay, to make a long story short, there are times when I'm a bit forgetful which means I need a refresher from time to time. I felt this list was an excellent refresher and enjoy what you chose to share with the Epinions.com community.

Congrats on the 900 reviews - but this one doesn't have any original content at all. It's only copy-n-paste directly from your other reviews.
Can't go higher than SH on this one.

I said I'd be doing more lists, Steve. I haven't seen many I want to see and my list keeps growing. The Mel Brooks' one is a satire about war and that's close enough for me. I didn't find the Huston movie depressing and don't think movies should be judged according to the book necessarily. They're different mediums.

Actually I wondered if I could hold a write-off either using a thousand questions or with 1000 in a product's title. Sounds too challenging~
Thanks Bri.

Nine hundred!!!!!
"You Done Good" Lil Rebel, you make me proud. Your reviews are all worthwhile as well - and you didn't have to taste fifty nine flavors of any brand of cat food to accomplish it - nor did you have to buy three or four refrigerators in a six month span of time. I liked your choices of movies, and am especially proud of you for doing "On the Beach". It is a movie that has haunted me for years, although I couldn't remember the name of it. OK - that's nine hundred, How soon can we expect 1000?

"To Be or Not To Be" is hilarious, though I don't really see it as an anti-war movie. I'm not sure that "The Americanization of Emily" is an anti-war movie, either, though it is a great military comedy that in recent years has finally been getting its due.
Red Badge of Courage is a great book, but Huston's adaptation a very disappointing movie.
What of "Platoon" and "Apocalypse Now" and "Full Metal Jacket" and "Casulaties of War" and "The Quiet American" (just for Vietnam)? "Paths of Glory," "All Quiet on the Western Front," "Johnny Got His Gun"?

Congrats on #900! You're getting closer and closer to the 1,000 mark- got any plans on what you will post when the big moment takes place?
P.S.: Roosevelt made that quote you mentioned, not Churchill.
